Took a while to figure this out, but this can be something like core values - the general ideas that ensure we have loving and honest project that accomplishes something. This part might be kinda cliche, but not really since I actually do care about this stuff and I'm not just saying it.

We do this important work while keeping values like these so our work can be grounded, consistent, and loving. What are your thoughts on this? I try to bake these ideas into everything I do here with the project we have.

Accountability

- Being unreservedly honest

- We're an open project with all of our processes visible to the public

- We encourage and need suggestions and criticism so we don't get stuck in a direction that's unhelpful

Communication

- We make considerable effort to understand each other and use clear language

- Knowing our own limitations with communication, and how words get twisted and cause problems

- Hearing people's stories (no matter how difficult) to understand and care for them, and better understand the big picture of things. Everyone's voice matters. Being empathetic.

- Breaking things down to be simple and achievable

Control

- Having fullest possible control over our own lives

- Having fullest possible control over our tech - prevents exploitation risks

- Having the healthiest and most productive amount of control over the problems we see happening in the world

Action

- Realizing that action has to be taken, of some kind

- Doing what we can, whether in-depth work or more simple and less overwhelming work

- Having something meaningful and impactful ready to be done for everyone - being prepared to to handle exploitation scenarios when they happen

- Each person realizing their part/role in this society-wide war on exploitation

These are things that I want to be built into whatever I do. I won't force everything on people, but if I am to lead things then I want to maintain these.
